I was fighting with the wage sofyware, here comes the report as below:
salary 0.00
Annual Leave 5,875.00
Sick Leave Paid Out 2,500.00
Lump Sum On Termination 15,000.00
GROSS PAY 23,375.00
Less:
Tax 7,228.50
NET PAY 16,146.50
Employer funded superannuation levy payment 0.00
Sick Leave of 25,000.00 taxed 31.5% as requested.
EPT of $15,000.00 taxed at 31.5%.
TAX:
Using the "Maximum Tax Rate", tax of $5,512.50 was derived from $17,500.00*31.5%(17500=0+2500+12500)
$5,875.00 of Annual Leave was taxed in a special way ... see "post 17/08/93" in help
$320.00 of untaxable leave loading was taken into account.
Tax on the above was $1,716.00
$0.00+$17,500.00+$5,878.00=$23,375.00
Employee is under 55 and worked only 1 year for the company.
The company will pay him 3 month's wage as 5,000.00*3=15,000.00 (Is that the amount of Lump Sum?)
And is the tax rate 31.5% right?
Why not 20% (as Table "Tax rate on post-June 83 component")?
Please help me, I am sooo confused. |
