Telstra has identified that your nominated phone line (07 xxxxxxxx) has incompatible infrastructure - "Pair Gains System/RIM" and is incompatible with ADSL. In order for TPG to deliver an ADSL service, we will need to organise the removal of "Pair Gains System/RIM".
This means that your telephone service is sharing copper wire between your premises and local telephone exchange with another telephone number. While a "Pair Gain" system is perfectly adequate for normal voice transmission of telephone conversations, it will not allow the full throughput of data via an ADSL Connection.
We can request for Telstra to remove the pair-gain and replace it with your own, independent copper wiring. This requires there to be spare copper lines in your area. This procedure has a success rate of 70% and normally takes up to four weeks to be completed, it can extend out to months if there are no ports or an upgrade to your local exchange is required This procedure also does not cost you anything.
If you are still within your ADSL Contract Period and the removal is unsuccessful, there will be a cancellation fee of $60
Please confirm you wish to proceed with the removal of the pair gain via return mail. Alternatively you may wish to supply a different phone number with your new premises for us to attempt to install ADSL on.
We apologise for any inconveinece caused.
