中国刚刚获得了一个新的“世界领先”的头衔：世界头号太空垃圾制造国

中国的经济发展对环境的影响是众所周知的，但是现在俄国联邦太空署，Roscosmos发布报告说，40%的在轨道上绕地球飘荡的垃圾是中国制造的。第二位的是美国，俄国排老三。他们加起来大概制造了50%的垃圾。

中国的绝大多数的太空垃圾实际上来自于被摧毁的风云一号气象卫星。2007年，中国发射了一枚火箭把风云一号炸成了碎片。有人坐在一个特大号的望远镜前面仔细地数过，风云一号被炸成了两千八百四十一片。这个数字让中国一跃登上垃圾虫排行榜第一名。

未来可能更糟。中国预计将于明年发射自己的太空空间站，天弓一号。

Adding yet another superlative to its ever growing "World's leading" list, China has now been declared the world's leading "space polluter."
The environmental impact of China’s booming economy is well documented, but now, Russian Federal Space Agency, Roscosmos has reported that 40% of the ‘space junk’ orbiting the Earth is thanks to China. Second in the list of contributors is the US, closely followed by Russia; who combined contributed roughly 50%.
The majority of China’s ‘space junk’ is down to the deliberate destruction of the weather satellite Fengyun-1C, which was shot by a missile in 2007. On impact, the weather station burst in to 2,841 pieces. (Whoever sat with a telescope and counted the pieces definitely deserves a medal!). This debris rocketed China to the top of the league table of "Space Polluters."

And we can look forward to more: China now has ambitious plans to build its own manned space station. Called the Tiangong-1, it's set to launch next year.
