Cristy Nicole Deweese, 21, was a first-year Spanish teacher at Rosie M Collins Sorrells School in Dallas, but in February 2011 she was Playboy magazine's "Coed of the Month". The Texas Education Agency initially said the case was "murky" because Ms Deweese posed in the shoot before she was hired as a teacher but she now appears to have been fired. In a series of tweets the former Spanish teacher said, "I miss the kids, so I'm sad about that, but otherwise I'm doing fine". "I'm just hoping they find a new teacher soon so it doesn't affect the students." Meanwhile supporters of Ms Deweese have set up a Facebook page entitled 'Support Teacher Christy Nicole Deweese' and some of her students have tweeted that they miss her. |
