from today's CPA newsletter: Australian employers are reluctant to employ migrant accountants from non-English speaking countries, according to a recent report released by CPA Australia. The report - Migration and the Accounting Profession in Australia suggests more needs to be done to bridge the gap and assist non-English speaking migrant accountants. The reports says that while migrant accountants from English-speaking countries do very well in obtaining professional level work in accounting and in managerial positions, this isn’t reflected with those from non-English speaking countries. This is of concern, as the latter comprise a major source of available entrants into the profession. for more info. please see the attached |
