Oracle Database Administrator (Production Support and Development) 6 Month Contract, with extension or view to permanent Fantastic opportunity to join the world's leading risk and insurance services firm. Accountabilities for the role; Project based applications DBA tasks Participate in conceptual applications design; Data modelling as required; Conversion projects tasks as part of a large program of work; Documentation of Implementation process along with administration and maintenance functions following successful implementation. Data Base Administration Management & technical administration of the various Oracle services on Windows and Solaris platforms; Regular reporting on availability, performance, load and usage rates; Testing and deployment of upgrades and patches; Performance monitoring and tuning of all Oracle databases; Investigation and diagnostic work on any problems on the database server infrastructure, coordinating efforts with Infrastructure and Operations and Application Support teams; Skills Criteria Oracle Database Administration on either 9i or 10G PL/SQL Performance Tuning / Stored Procedures Unix (Solaris) and Windows Unix shellscripting Exposure to Oracle Financial Applications would be beneficial Must posses a high level of motivation, flexibility and initiative Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Take this opportunity to work for a global market leader where communication and technical expertise is imperative.
