UPDATE 5.53pm: SES and coastguard crews performed an extraordinary rescue today, saving a marooned man and his eight cats stranded on a blow-up li-lo 1km from the nearest road. Crews were called to the dramatic rescue in Kialla, near Shepparton, about 5.30pm. The man was bought to safety on an SES rescue boat and believed to be suffering from hyperthermia. He was treated by paramedics while emergency crews took the cats, his li-lo and a bike to safety.
