相信很多买房， 租房的同学经常可以在地产广告上看到某某房子在quiet cul de sac location。而且这些有cul de sac标签的房子， 往往卖得比同区的房子要贵一些。 这个词的中文解释是“只有一个出口的路”， 换句话说就是“死胡同”。如果用英文白话文来说就是“dead end or no through road”。 当然如果那位地产中介用这些白话文来描述一个房子的位置的话， 我相信一定会吓跑不少买家， 特别是中国买家  。 于是有文化的同学就想到了cul de sac。 这个词听着就让人觉得有种浪漫的欧洲情调， 哪怕房子卖贵个一万八千， 买家也会屁颠屁颠地掏钱。 对这个词的来源， 国内一般是认为是来自法语。 但我在wikipedia看到却说它来自西班牙的加泰罗尼亚语。 在这点上， 我还是倾向于wikipedia的解释。 另外，这个词还常常被用来说一个人职业到了尽头- a career cul de sac。 实用的例子： Quiet Cul De Sac Location.
