This is a FREE program for clients who want to become familiar with the Australian Jobs Market and develop high quality resumes and application letters concluding with interview techniques. Presentation: Getting Into Industry: A free Session for Overseas Qualified Engineers On Tuesday 29th November 2005, the Department of Victorian Communities in conjunction with Engineers Australia is conducting a seminar for Overseas Qualified Engineers with advice on: - Overseas Qualification Assessment and Vocational Advice - Referral to employment services - IELTS Language assessment - Eligibility for Engineers Australia professional categories - Business Language courses for engineering professionals - How to become a Chartered engineer For further information and registration, please refer to the attached .pdf document and follow the registration procedures. 3. Work Placement – IT Database An ethno-specific aged care facility with four sites across metropolitan Melbourne (Clayton, St Albans, Thornbury and LowerTemplestowe) is seeking an IT Database Specialist to create a data base which can assist the organisation to capture vital data on information related to both the organisation’s staff and clients. It is envisaged that the most appropriate data base would be an Access Database, with the capacity of specific fields and queries to capture details around the following areas: Waiting list of eligible clients: fields to capture clients’ personal details and relevant medical information; queries to enable the creation of lists and reports of all wait-listed clients for each of the four sites and the organisation as a whole. Client-specific incident/accident/medical intervention data: fields to capture occasions per client for various incidents occurring; queries to enable the creation of lists and reports over specified timeframes to map total numbers of different types of incidents for each of the four sites. Staff-specific incident/accident/other work-related data: field to capture different occasions of staff related issues and incidents; queries to enable the creation of lists and reports over specified timeframes to map total numbers of different types of staff issues/incidents for each of the four sites. The organization is interested in using such a data base to create lists and reports under different queries, but is also interesting in graphing the data. Once the database is created, assistance and guidance would be required in creating graphs with the above data, either directly through Access (should Access have the capacity for this), or by transporting the Access data to another more appropriate program. If you are interested in undertaking this interesting project, you will be liaising with both the management of the aged care facility and with Kass Halastanis from the South Central Region Migrant Resource Centre.
