Capability to code complex GIS tasks for large datasets and include functionality such as dataset creation, spatial query, data projection, routing and linear referencing. Experience with ESRI products and linearly referenced data is preferred. Demonstrated skills and experience with business intelligence applications, web development, relational databases (eg. DB2), database design, SQL querying, programming (eg. VB, .net, UML, Javascript, ArcObjects), complex data integration, and in the development, maintenance and operation of computer systems. Demonstrated skills and experience in project management and contract management, and a good understanding of quality systems. Sound consultancy skills used to provide support to Clients in identifying the essential requirements of any tasks and to provide a timely and cost effective solution. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, professional staff, subordinates and contractors. Well-developed written communication skills for the preparation of reports for customers and management are also required. Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously in a team of professionals. Appropriate tertiary qualification (preferably in GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or IT). |
