To those who are interested: The Network Information Processing Program of NICTA Victoria Laboratory has a research focus on language technologies for extracting, analyzing and presenting the information locked up in large bodies of text and speech data on the web. The Interactive Information Discovery and Delivery project is seeking to build new web search services which perform linguistic and geospatial analysis of queries and content can in order to enhance theability of users to access the information they need. Project members are James Bailey, Steven Bird, Lawrence Cavedon, Alistair Moffat, Nicola Stokes, Peter Stuckey and Egemen Tanin. We seek two research engineers to join the project team, working under the supervision of the project leader. The successful candidates will be responsible for: * developing software prototypes, * managing linguistically-annotated datasets, and * establishing a platform for experimental evaluation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential to the role.
