合同怎么写的，如果合同上面写的需要notice的，而你没给，那么这个钱是合理的，如果你是按照合同上面说的，那么不该给钱。我们以前也是这么退房的，续租了一年的合同，但是合同上写，如果在一年之间要退房，必须给几个礼拜的notice的。

Check your contract.  If you have signed the second year lease, then it is quite normal to have penalty if you break the lease. Actually 1 week rental is quite low.  My previoius lease was to cover the advertisement fee, and also all the rental until a new tenant is found.
Afterall, you are breaking a contract.  The landlord have a contract with you to guarantee you 1 year of fix rental plus a place to stay, in return you promise you will stay for a year so the landlord knows he/she doesn't need to find another person.  The agent usually charge the landlord 1 week rental to sign a contract, so you are not paying too much.  if you can break a contract without penalty, why would the landlord bother to have another 1 year lease with you?

更新一个，在ACT，租约是一年死，一年活。在一年后，可以不签约的。但当时我们由于不知，所以签了这个字，一周房租没办法，出了。
