其实大多数公司都是比较灵活的,关键是活干出来就行。即使一天工作20小时,活还是干的不好的话,大家都别想过好日子。

Correct for private sector, wrong for public sector. In the public sector, the more work you do, the more sh*t you get. When I corrected the DNS/WINS system here at my work, those fat a*se managers had heart attacks because something was changed...although it's proven to be much better than the old defunct design they still sometimes call me a cowboy.

And the other day three managers had probably too much of lunch, they sat down together, had a so called meeting, then decide one of the settings in our group policy needs to be changed. Like they know what group policy is, and they don't know group policies are developed and maintained by me. Then they passed on the decision to my supervisor. My supervisor had no choice but asking me to do it. I had no choice but do it. So I did it.

Then I wrote a email to everyone in our department, confirmed that I have made the change, then politely asked those a*seholes if they were aware that they just opened up all 6,520 printers on our internal network to any student who knows how to do a simple search in Windows Explorer, or from Start button. Then they could print a 5,000 page book to all those 6,520 printers to waste every piece of paper in all those printers.

Within 5 minutes my supervisor lost her color and rushed down to the manager's office. another 5 minutes later one of the f*cker rushed back with her, kind of shaking, then asked me to reverse the change. I told him the change will take up to 60 minutes to be reversed totally and there is no way to force it. So it could happen within this 60 minutes. He then said they will have another meeting about this later. Whatever.

After they left I hesitated if I should remote into one of our student workstations and initiate a rampage print of <Mao Ze Dong Xuan Ji> to at least 20 printers. If I did that, those 3 managers will become the joke of the whole year. And they can only appreciate that I told them this so that it didn't happen bigger. Well I didn't do it.

So this is the public sector - I think I have had enough.

不论private/public sector,在一个地方干的越久,就越多机会见到种种弊端和politicis,越容易觉得had enough

这还不算回家远程登陆的时间呢。更惨的是这点加班都不好意思报,我们teamleader都是早7.30 to 19.30的。
