Daily Telegraph: UTS将要削减的学位有啥？

悉尼科技大学将裁撤134个全职学术岗位、167个课程和1100个科目，以节省8千万澳元，原因归咎于政府资助变化和收入增长不佳。

该校公布的课程削减计划范围，比8月宣布“暂时停办”的学位名单更大。

被取消的课程包括教育硕士，以及专注科学、经济和技术的教育类双学位。

公共卫生硕士与学士将一并消失，工程科学与法律的本科学位双学位也在削减之列。

超过60个与国际研究学士相关的联合学位将被砍掉。

此外，还有20个硕士项目被取消，涵盖数学与定量金融、姑息治疗、医学生物技术哲学硕士等领域。

拟裁撤学术岗位并合并院系，课程削减近三成

根据“运营可持续计划”，UTS公布的改革方案包括裁撤134个全职学术岗位，并进一步削减临时岗位，相当于约32.7个全职学术职位。

该校计划将法学院与商学院合并为新设立的“商法学院”，教育、公共卫生和国际研究等多个学院将被关闭，以简化和统一院系架构。

这意味着学院数量将由6个缩减至5个，院系下属的24个系所将缩减为15个。

课程总量将减少28%，开设科目数量减少31%。

在这项提案下，设计与社会学院受影响最严重，课程数量减少40%，其1232门科目将被削减三分之一以上。

理学院将裁掉一半科目，整体课程减少38%。

健康学院科目削减46%，课程数量由100个降至66个。

在被取消的1101门科目中，有463门在2024年无人选修，且未被开设。

学校保证在读学生仍可完成其课程和必修科目。

校长帕菲特（Andrew Parfitt）表示，他“深感遗憾”此次裁员，并承认员工可能面临焦虑和担忧。

他强调，UTS致力于实现可持续未来，为学生提供优质教育，并继续产出造福社会的科研成果。

全国高等教育工会主席巴恩斯（Alison Barnes）则称，这一计划“毁灭性”，是“对社会的灾难”。

她说：“我想不起来有哪个案例像这样大规模削减，几乎三分之一教学被砍掉，还涉及教育和公共卫生等关键学科。

这就是当大学高管把公立机构当成逐利企业时会发生的事：公共利益被抛弃。”

Tu AU 不重视学术，正苦没怎么funding, 又没有$人资助，the future 将会更退步！

这些课程参加个培训班和讲座，阅读几本课外读物就行了，尤其现在有AI加持，可以网上完成，浪费三年拿个学位不值得！

这个清单很容易理解错，不是说Bachelor of AI不开课了。
是Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence + Bachelor of International Studies的双学位不开了，Bachelor of AI还是照常的
前面一大批基本都是combine Bachelor of International Studies的双学位
