Internal Microsoft video shows plans for next-gen gaming experience

While searching around the Internet to find information the future of the Xbox, I stumbled across an internal video dated May 2010 which showcases some of the WGX (Windows Gaming eXperience) team’s ambitions for next-generation gaming between Windows, Xbox Live, and mobile platform. For those of you who are unfamiliar, WGX is an internal Microsoft team comprised of all gaming-related endeavors between all of Microsoft’s platforms. Though the video is from 2010, this is the closest look we have had yet at exactly what WGX’s vision is. Check out the video below and see what you think:




We are at the early stages of defining and architecting and developing excitement around gaming in Windows and the Web. We have a highly visible company-wide charter to promote gaming and empower game developers to create compelling, immersive, rich experiences in Windows and on the Web. We are on a mission to make games a first-class citizen in Windows through our efforts and in collaboration with other groups across the Interactive Entertainment & Devices (IEB) division.

看着有点象Second Life 得意思。
要是Windows 8 里能把 “Gaming” 提到 1等公民地位，把所有得服务都无缝整合到一个虚拟得世界里，的确是很伟大得一件事。

以前玩WOW得时候，就感觉到，如果世界上90% 得人都有WOW得账号，那wow就成了一个何等了得得虚拟世界了。  所有得日常事物都可以再这个虚拟世界里完成，比如，定机票，买卖东西， 交流，social，跟朋友一起玩游戏，一起看电影。。。 这个感觉跟你面对一对web 得下拉菜单UI完全不同了。

微软已经有了庞大得Live Id和Xbox 得Avatar， 并且也比较好得整合到WP7里了。
