I finally convinced my daughter that rowing is a fun sport to try (I know after one year ). I heard there’s a waiting list of around 20 people — does anyone know how it works? Is it simply first-come, first-served, or are there other factors they consider?
Yes there is a waitlist of about 20 I believe. So considering so many girls want to give it a go if your daughter is on the come try rowing lists and not interested or planning on turning up the school needs to be informed so they can let everyone try!!
Curious what's the difference between "give it a go" and "try it out"? Seems "give it a go" should have higher priority in your mind Also not sure where this "not interested or planning on trning up" came from. It sounds like saying "no one else can do a good job". Not sure if I'm reading it wrong.
Update:
This response does sound a little sharp or passive-aggressive, especially:
The "if your daughter is on the list and not interested or planning on turning up" part feels like a subtle accusation or warning.
It assumes the daughter might take up a spot and then not show up, which could be seen as calling Person A irresponsible.
The tone lacks warmth — no encouragement or camaraderie, just a rule-focused reminder.
