I'm new here, please be nice Do other users of LetsGo suffer from slow speeds during the hours of approx 7pm to 1am?
I can DL at about 450kbps at around 5pm but at around 7pm I am down to around 55kbps.
This happens every night on any site or speed test from any mirror.
If others are having this problem is there anything we can do eg: tracer routes sent to customer support that may help them sort out this issue.
Or could it just be my exchange, Wollongong?

Forum Regular no i dont think its your exchange. im in sydney and i experience the same thing. exactly what your talking about. and if i were you contact letsgo and tell them. the more people we can get to tell them then they might speed things up and do something. otherwise lets do a group ombudsman lodgement.

I'm new here, please be nice I called them last night about this issue and was told that it was basically all NSW users and it is out of their control. Suggested solution was that Optus needs to uprade this or that to cope.
Mentioned that at 55kpbs this was below the minimun standard, they agreed.
I know minimun is 1500 dl synch speed but at 55kbps this gives a line speed during peek time of around 500kbs.
Asked if I was to leave if the would charge me $300, support said this was a diffirent issue and that he would talk to supervisor tomorrow and see what they could do about my problem.

Mr.DJ
Forum Regular im in melbourne and slowing down speed at around 5pm to 1am is about right,
i get roughly about 300 - 350kbps all other time, but around those times, even normal surfing sometimes is not possible.

I'm new here, please be nice So not much has changed. I rang again and was told that there was nothing they could do because Optus had allocated all ports in my exchange, perhaps even over-allocated and that this was Optus' fault. Nothing can be done to ease the congestion. So it seems I'm to suffer 55kbps until Optus uprgades their capacity at my exchange, although he did mention the Sydney POP would be up around 1 July but I dont see how this is going to help me if my traffic is stuffed up by over allocation by Optus.
So I flicked off a complaint to the TIO so hopefully we can negotiate a contract release.

Forum Regular Yeah mine blows too - definatly not the 20mbp/s quoted on the ads - much more of this and I'll be popping off to the ACCC as well. Even the b/f complains about how slow the net is and he is hardly a demanding user!

I'm new here, please be nice I am considering LetsGo (and many other ISP's after node's recent price hikes).
I am located in Perth and I am led to believe that they have a POP server in Perth. Any Perth LetsGo user able to provide honest feedback of connectivity / latency?
I, like ODEED from a previous thread, am a heavy XBXLive user (Gears of War) and am most interested in the quality of GOW latency on LetgsGo Perth POP server.
Thanks in advance...

I'm new here, please be nice Well I can't speak for WA users but they only have 1 POP at the mo which is in Perth and I rekon that gets jammed to the shithouse with traffic from all their users.
Mate, one peice of advice from me would be to stay well clear of Lets Go if you are a console gamer.
Lets Go are dirt cheap. If you need 60Gb a month for torrents and what not then use it, if you are a hardcore gamer n u only crank about 7 gig a month on games then do not.
You need low ping, multiple POPs and reliable backhaul, Lets Go have none of these.
I guess it all comes down to suitability. I have a few friends that joined Lets Go and love it 'cause its cheap and they are just download freaks - not gamers, I'm a gamer who wanted speed but got ping hell and peek time death.
I want out ASAP.

Whirlpool Forums Addict Your paying $39 for a ADSL2 Connection when bandwidth onto the internet costs over $150 per mbit. Do the math. They cant afford to upgrade the bandwidth |
