'Bullet' found inside hot cross bun

A METAL object, believed to be a bullet, has been found in a hot cross bun bought from a Gold Coast supermarket.
A 47-year-old woman bought six hot cross buns from the Coles outlet in the Pines Shopping Centre at Elanora on Monday, but did not discover the object until breaking a bun in half a day later.
Police Superintendent Jim Keogh today said the object was undergoing forensic examination at Brisbane's John Tonge Centre.
"We're trying to ascertain whether or not the projectile was inserted into the bun prior to it being baked or after," Supt Keogh told ABC Radio.
"It's important to note though that at this time we haven't had any demands, any threats from any person who may have put the object into the product."
The product has been removed from shelves while police investigate. Coles has ordered a recall of its hot cross buns in Queensland. |
