THE brains of 2007 have already been snapped up by Melbourne and Monash universities. They were among 47,000 nervous year 12 students who received their results yesterday.
Thirty-two top performers achieved the best possible ENTER score of 99.95.
Melbourne Uni offered scholarships to 20 students, including Haileybury school captain Sahil Shekhar and vice-captain Derrick Ha, who both achieved the perfect score.

Derrick received a perfect 50 in all five subjects. He was awarded the National Medicine Scholarship, and will study medicine at Melbourne.
Sahil, 18, hopes to study arts-law.
"I'm really looking forward to next year. I'm hoping it will be a little bit easier than this year," Sahil said.
Melbourne Uni recipients receive free tuition and an allowance of $5000 a year for the duration of the degree.
Monash offered scholarships to all 25 students who received perfect ENTER scores who applied to Monash.
The Monash scholarships cover the cost of the uni place, plus a $6000 yearly allowance.
Students began accessing their results via SMS, phone and online from 7am.
This year, 96.3 per cent of students successfully completed the VCE, slightly fewer than last year.
Premier John Brumby congratulated all students who completed their VCE.
"There were 598 students this year who got at least one perfect score and I want to congratulate them for what is an extraordinary effort," Mr Brumby said.
"To all of the students who have done well, well done. "And to all of those who've completed their VCE, I congratulate them and their parents for what is a very big year in their life."
Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority chief executive John Firth said it was a big day for students.
"It sure is an exciting day for a culmination of 13 years of schooling, and many students will be very happy with the results they receive," he said.
Education Minister Bronwyn Pike said the VCE completion rate was impressive but urged under-achievers not to dwell on their marks.
"If you didn't get the results you expected, make sure you don't turn disappointment into despair," she said.
"Make sure you consider the wide range of educational options we have in Victoria, from university courses, TAFEs, apprenticeships and traineeships." |
