从2007年1月1日起,联邦和维州政府多项新政策将开始实施,其中和要买房的筒子关系密切的是购房印花税将下降,具体来说:
■ 房价介于$115,000至400,000元之间的房产,印花税将从6%降低到5%,对于墨尔本房产中间价位$36.7万来说,将可节省大约$2600元印花税;
■ 房价在$400,000至500,000元之间,印花税将减少2850元;
■ 首次置业津贴,除了联邦政府的$7000元外,维州政府的首置津贴$3000元将继续执行至2009年6月30日;
■ 购置新建住宅者,首次置业津贴将增加到$5000元。
■ 工资税由5.15%降至5.05%;
■ 废除商用租房税。

STATE GOVERNMENT
■VicRoads raises heavy vehicle registration by 2.7 per cent
■CityLink prices rise by about 4.5 per cent on a year ago
■Stamp duty cut from 6 per cent to 5 per cent on family homes between $115,000 and $400,000 Cut of $2850 on houses valued between $400,000 and $500,000
■New laws to crack down on drink driving among young drivers
