郁闷：Victoria 09年的ANZAC Day没有了

正在做明年的reporting deadline planning， 突然发现4月25日的ANZAC DAY 是个星期六，记得有条rule是In Tasmania and Victoria, there is no day in lieu when ANZAC Day falls on a weekend.查了下，果真有这个说法，可是除了 VIC & TAS以外的州都是顺延到周一:

“ANZAC Day is on April 25 and is celebrated Australia-wide. However, holiday arrangements vary in states and territories. In the Australian Capital Territory and in Western Australia, the day off for most workers and students falls on the following Monday if April 25 is on a Saturday or Sunday. In New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and South Australia, if April 25 falls on a Sunday, the day off for most workers and students is on the following Monday. In Tasmania and Victoria, there is no day in lieu when ANZAC Day falls on a weekend (although there may be substitution arrangements in some cases).”source from http://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/australia/anzac-day

接着查了下2010年的ANZAC Day是在星期天（25/4/2010），但是却in lieu 到周一 26/4/2010了， 为什么唯独09年的星期六不算呢？知道的同学来说一下？

Oops! 找到案例了，2004年的时候Anzac Day 也是在周末，可是当时的AIRC拒绝了15个工会组织要求顺延到周一的请求。当时是自由党执政，不知道09年工党执政的时候，有没有可能改变vic & tas的命运。。

AIRC dismisses application for a substitute day for Anzac Day public holiday
Workplace News can report that a full bench of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) has dismissed an application by 15 unions seeking a substitute day off for the Anzac Day public holiday in Victoria in 2004.  Anzac Day falls on Sunday 25 April this year.
The application was sought for Monday 26 April 2004 to be declared as a substitute day under certain federal awards in order to bring the entitlement into line with other States in Australia, with the exception of Tasmania. The full bench concluded that the unions failed to make a sufficient case to support their application.  The reasons for the decision are yet to be published.  
Anzac Day will next fall on a weekend again in 2009.

又找了下，看来已经提请议会审议顺延到周一了，vic & tas 的同学们也不要太担心拉，fingers crossed! （哈哈，好像只有我关心）

Today, States and Territories agreed in principle to take steps to harmonise arrangements for the provision of the ANZAC Day public holiday as follows:

•        a substitute public holiday on the following Monday where ANZAC Day falls on a Sunday;
•        a substitute public holiday on the Tuesday when ANZAC day falls on Easter Monday in 2011.
States and Territories agreed that jurisdictions which already provide for an additional public holiday on the Monday (South Australia and Western Australia) will not be impacted by this decision.

Tasmania’s in principle support is subject to consultation with business and industry.

今天发accounting calendar 09给我老板，并且问他anzac day到底顺延不？他肯定地回答不管别人怎样，我们反正放假，然后把Apr 09的 working days改成了19天,haha.

以前墨尔本的Roayl melboune Show也放假呢，后来被前州长Jeff Kennett 给取消了

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that after consultation with the NTEU, the University has declared Friday 24 April 2009 as a University Holiday in lieu of Anzac Day 2009.

Clause 24.2 of the EBA states that Anzac Day shall be observed as a Public Holiday, and where this day falls on a weekend, a day off in lieu will be granted by the University. As Anzac Day is on a Saturday in 2009, the University Holiday in lieu of this day will be Friday 24 April 2009.
