幼儿园阿姨告诉我，每小时要支付1.2元管理费（childcare admin fee）给本地政府（local council）。因为是 long day care，这就意味着，按照一年48周算，要支付 48 * 50 * 1.2 = 2880 元
这是一大笔钱了。
请问，有没有人知道，本地政府收这笔钱是干什么用的？

Thank you for your email regarding the $1.20 levy.
There may have been some miscommunication with your educator regarding this levy. The levy is an Educator levy and is paid for by the educator not by families.
The levy helps to pay for the regular support visits, phone contact, paperwork etc. that each educator receives and part of the cost helps to pay for the day to day running of the service without which the educators will not be able to operate their business.
While the levy is paid for by educators, many educators chose to add the cost to their hourly rate for families. This is the educators business decision and is not a requirement by the Council.
