Oracle Database Specialist - Enterprise Infrastructure Services, Technology (32569) - SYD22055

We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring, friendly Oracle Database Specialist with leadership capabilities to join the Database Services Technology team.

Excellent communication and consulting skills is key to understanding the requirements of the business needs, provide recommendations as well as be able to clearly convey the design solution to the target audience and gain their full commitment.  

The main skills and required tasks are:
•Liaison with IT business, application and enterprise architecture for Strategy and Design related to Database
•Database solution design and costing including frequent review of design documents
•Advise on database strategy
•Strong in-depth product knowledge of the Oracle suite
•Strong knowledge of the Oracle licensing model
•Involvement in IT application design phase ensuring best practices endorsement
•Liaison with suppliers and technology support groups
•Leadership in delivering projects on time
•Assist the Database Manager as a product specialist. Involved cross-DBMS information sharing, strategy and collaboration.
•Coach team members and conduct information sharing sessions
•Capacity Planning
•Drive ongoing Stability maintenance.
•Drive database systems efficiency. Performance analysis and tuning

Required technical experience:
•Oracle RAC and ASM
•Partitioning
•Dataguard
•OEM
•Oracle Resource Management
•Backup & Recovery concepts
•Oracle Security
•AIX and Linux (or Unix in general)
•EMC and Networking
•Capacity Planning
•Performance monitoring and tuning on various applications
•Minimum of 5 years of Database Design experience and 10 years of Oracle product consulting skills
Required non-technical experience:
•Outstanding ability to engage with both the IT technical and business community.  
•Outstanding Consulting Skills
•Time management and coordination skills
•Providing thought-leadership
