870签证可以父母在岸直接生效吗？

父母现在持有的是600五年的签证（就是最多在岸一年），他们5月刚来，按照规定可以最久待到明年4月，然后国内最少呆半年再来。这签证2021年过期。

如果我现在帮他们申请870签证，假设年底下来，需要他们offshore吗，还是直接开始新签证的有效期了？谢谢

这是官方网站贴出来的，我的理解是如果不是特别批准，父母申请的时候是必须离岸，结果出来的时候可以是离岸/在岸，但都不能是进海关的状态。

看了下，貌似理论上可以在岸申请

Permission to Apply in Australia allows you to apply for this visa in Australia, but not in immigration clearance. It must be requested in Australia by your sponsor in their sponsorship application form.

If you have Permission to Apply in Australia, you must lodge your visa application within 60 days of sponsorship approval. If you do not apply within 60 days, you will have to lodge your visa application outside Australia within 6 months of sponsorship approval, or make an application for a different visa to remain in Australia.

If you do not have Permission to Apply in Australia, you must depart Australia. Apply from outside Australia within 6 months of sponsorship approval or make an application for a different kind of visa to remain in Australia.

申请sponsor的时候，是有这个选项，是否要在境内申请。

之前看别人说境内申请需要特殊理由，所以我也试过点onshore apply显示什么

如果870签证批了的话，之前的600签证是直接作废了吗？还是600过期后，870才有效

5年600一般都有no further stay吧
