Breaking: East Preston Islamic School closes due to COVID-positive student
A grade 5 boy from an Islamic school in Melbourne's inner North has tested positive for COVID-19 today, with school authorities closing the school immediately.
East Preston Islamic School Principal Ekrem Ozyurek told The Age said the boy attended classes on Monday and Tuesday while he was still deemed a close contact of family members who had tested positive to the virus in recent weeks.
他是阳性的close contact，应该在家隔离，结果去上了两天学。
"He had other siblings that were cleared of the virus on the 17th [of October]," he said.
Mr Ozyurek said the child then was sent for day eleven testing on Tuesday and received a positive test today.
“I made the executive decision to close the school, even though the letter from the department said we don't have to," he said.
学校自己决定关校。department（啥department没说，dhhs还是education？）居然说不用关学校。打算再爆一遍嘛？）
"I’m hoping and praying that the classroom teacher has not picked up anything."
Members of the public in the Preston area received text messages on Wednesday prompting anyone with symptoms to get tested immediately. |
