Sorry I have to type in English as my office computer doesn't have Chinese typo. I have been living in Oak Park for 1.5 years since we bought our unit here in 2018.
Oak Park is small, quiet, and I still think it's one of the most affordable and high value choices you can find in Melbourne if you are looking for somewhere within around 30 mins train ride to city.
The most inconvenient thing I find after 1.5 year been here, somehow, is about shopping, especially for buying a piece of pork that Chinese cooking needs, because you will find this whole area is previously a Muslim-ish area, I don't know about the future, but it used to be, from Oak Park northward to Broadmeadows or even furthuer north. That's why you cannot find any butchery that sells pork, because they are all Hallam. the only place you can buy pork is to go woolworth Coles or Preston market. if you don't mind that that's fine, but that's kind a small picture you can see about this whole area, it was not very convenient for shopping, and the demography is not very Asian, you need to either to go Glenroy ( where I don't really like to go because sometimes ) or Preston for shopping.
The other thing I want to add is the house price growth in Oak Park is really slow, a few days ago I saw a report saying the house price growth in Oak Park ranks the the least among all the 300 suburbs in Melbourne in the past 10 years. it was just about 10% ish growth, it is a good news for you as someone wants to buy, but not sure if it will still be when you want to in 10 or 20 years, so, kind of good and bad you need to really think about.
Other than that, Oak Park is really a good value place in the north you can give a serious thought about.
