Yeah, I have a credit card with a limit of 10,000 dollars.

Where will you be staying?

I will be staying at a hotel.

Just a routine check.

Last week, my four-year-old daughter,Sally,was invited to a children's Party.
I decided to take her by train.
Sally was very excited because she had never travelled on a train before.
She sat near the window and asked question about everything she saw.
Suddenly, a middle-aged lady got on the train and sat opposite Sally.
'Hello,little girl',she said
Sally did not answer,but looked at her curiously.
The lady was dressed in a blue coat and large ,funny hat.
After the train had left the station .the lady opened her hanbag and took out her powder compact.
She then began to make up her face.
‘’Why are you doing that‘’?Sally asked.
‘To make myself beautiful’,the lady answered.
She put away compact and smile kindly.
'But you are still ugly'Sally said.
Sally was amused, but I was very embarrassed!

据统计，化妆时间：
In a rush  <5 mins.嘴里卡着面包的，车上的，边走边化的，上菜市场的。
Normal speed ＝>15 mins. 上班比较近的，天气比较好的
Leisurely speed >30 mins.逛大街，大餐的，约会的。

Lesson One hundred and forty-three   A walk through the woods
Question: What was so funny about the words on the sign

I live in a very old town which is surrounded by beautiful woods.
It is a famous beauty spot.
On sundays,hundreds of peoele come from the city to see our town and to walk through the woods.
Visitors have been asked to keep the woods clean and tidy.
Litter baskets have been placed under the trees,but people still throw their rubbish everywhere.
Last wednesday, I went for a walk in the woods.
What I saw made me very sad.
I counted seven old cars and three refrigerators.
The litter baskets were empty and the ground was covered with pieces of paper.
cigarette ends,old tyres,empty bottles and rusty tins.
Among the rubbish ,I found a sign which said.
'Anyone who leaves litter in these woods will be prosecuted!'

今天是新概念英语第一册的最后一节课，
感谢版主和朋友们的支持和鼓励，
终于完成了第一册的学习。
尽管英语没有多少提高，
但足友bigcrow的”只为耕耘，不问收获”的话语，让一切释然。
接下来，我还没有打算学什么，新概念英语第二册？赖世雄初级英语第一册？还是英语日常用语900句？
请足友们给个建议，谢谢。
另外，是在“老爸老妈”这个版面学习还是到”“英语”版面学习，也困惑着我。

虽有赶工之嫌，考虑到你不日即要赴澳，算是临阵磨刀吧，也许有立竿见影之效。
建议继续第二册。到了澳洲，学习资料随手拈来，不过急不得。
带部好词典，先猜后查。没记性只好烂笔头。

过一遍总会留些印象的，不停步就好，赶着，赶着的，不知不觉就提高了。

啊，还要带字典啊，原以为下载个电子字典在手机里就OK了。
第一册学得比较急匆匆，好在单词不多，
主要是纠正发音，熟悉语调，提高听力，
但学完了，收获不大。伤心ing。。。

请两位足友的，还是在这个版面，下周开始学习新概念英语第二册。
