1. The financial aspects of your relationship might be evidenced by: joint loan agreements for real estate, cars, major household appliances; investments, trusts etc.; operating joint bank accounts and evidence of change in circumstances
2. The nature of your household might be evidenced by: residential receipts; joint utilities accounts (electricity, gas, telephone); correspondence addressed to either or both parties at the same address.
3. The social aspects of your relationship might be evidenced by: indications that the relationship has been declared to other government bodies and commercial/public institutions and authorities and acceptance of these declarations by bodies; statements of parents, family members, relatives, friends and other interested parties. Statements should be in the form of statutory declarations as they carry more weight; discontinued membership of organisations or groups, documentary evidence of joint participation in sporting, social or other activities; and documents.
4. The nature of the separation might be evidenced by: Period of separation The extent to which the parties have terminated their affairs; the terms of the parties’ wills, life insurance policies and/or superannuation policies. Policies that are made in each other’s favour. |
