澳洲的作家似乎比较喜欢也很自豪地提一些很aussie的东西。欢迎补充。

1. esky
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esky
Esky is an Australian brand of portable coolers. The term "esky" is also commonly used in Australia to generically refer to portable coolers or ice boxes and is part of the Australian vernacular, in place of words like "cooler" or "cooler box" and the New Zealand "chilly bin". The term derives from the word Eskimo.

History[edit]
The Esky was created by Malley's, a Sydney refrigeration business. Some historians have credited Malley's with the invention of the portable ice cooler.[1] According to the company, the Esky was "recognised as the first official portable cooler in the world."[2] The company's own figures claim that by 1960, 500,000 Australian households owned one (in a country of approximately 10 million).

Outdoor recreation company Coleman Australia bought the Esky brand from Nylex Ltd after the company went into administration in February 2009. Esky has been producing coolers since 1952.[3] Coleman still produces most of the Esky line in Melbourne.[4][5][6] The sale was seen as symptomatic of the decline of Australian made goods due to cheaper imports being available.[7]

没想到吧,这个大家非常熟悉的蓝色冷藏器被认为是世界上第一个正式的便携式冷藏器。

2. puftaloon
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puftaloon
A puftaloon is a fried scone, a kind of quick bread, known to be cooked in Australia. They are popular with children in winter.

It is made from flour, salt, butter, milk and it is traditionally fried in dripping (rendered animal fat, such as pork fat or lard, or rendered beef fat). It is also known as a "Johnnycake", referred to in the Australian folk song "Four Little Johnny Cakes", in which an itinerant sheep shearer says (in the song's chorus), as he relaxes at his riverside camp: "With my little round flour-bag sitting on a stump, / My little tea-and-sugar bag looking nice and plump, A little fat cod-fish just off the hook, /And four little johnny-cakes, a credit to the cook".

3. Arnott's Biscuit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnott%27s_Biscuits
Arnott's Biscuits Limited is Australia's largest producer of biscuits and the second-largest supplier of snack food.[3][4] It is a subsidiary of the Campbell Soup Company of the United States.

In 1997, the Campbell Soup Company of North America, a shareholder of Arnott's since the 1980s, acquired Arnott's in full. Thus, in 1997, Arnott's Biscuits Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Campbell Soup Company. This caused a significant amount of controversy in Australia, based on the desire for such an Australian icon to remain in Australian hands, and a fear that Campbell's would Americanise the products.

4. Weet-Bix
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weet-Bix
Weet-Bix is a high-fibre and low-sugar breakfast cereal biscuit manufactured in Australia and New Zealand by the Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing Company, and in South Africa by Bokomo.[1]

Weet-Bix is seen in both Australia and New Zealand as an iconic national foodstuff. An online poll of 16,000 people in 2006 identified it as Australia's favourite trademark.[6] The product has been marketed in Australia since 1985 with the catchphrase "Aussie Kids are Weet-Bix kids". Based on its success in Australia, a similar catchphrase was adopted six months later in New Zealand: "Kiwi Kids are Weet-Bix kids".

5. Arthur Boyd
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Boyd
Arthur Merric Bloomfield Boyd AC OBE (24 July 1920 – 24 April 1999) was a leading Australian painter of the late 20th century. Boyd's work ranges from impressionist renderings of Australian landscape to starkly expressionist figuration, and many canvases feature both. Several famous works set Biblical stories against the Australian landscape, such as The Expulsion (1947–48),[1] now at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Having a strong social conscience, Boyd's work deals with humanitarian issues and universal themes of love, loss and shame.[2]

在网上没查到这个传统。可以问问local。
